The Linn County Sheriff's Office is currently searching for motivated individuals for the full-time positions of Deputy Sheriff in both the Patrol unit and School Resource unit. Linn County is located 45 miles south of the greater Kansas City Metro Area. The Linn County Sheriff's Office consists of 22 sworn officers in the Law Enforcement Division. The Law Enforcement Division consists of a 10-person Patrol unit, 6-person School Resource unit, 3-person Investigations unit and 2-person Court Security unit. Those selected to fill this position will be responsible for enforcing local, state, and federal laws, investigating crimes, enforcing traffic regulations, investigating traffic crashes, assisting the public, and serving on a TEAM that takes great pride in serving and protecting its community.

Qualifications
Applicants must be at least 21 years of age at the time of hire, must possess a valid driver's license, must be in good physical condition, have no felony, serious misdemeanor, or domestic violence convictions, be a US citizen, possess a high school diploma or GED, and must be able to pass a written and oral exam, physical fitness, physical exam, and psychological exam. Preferences will be given to applicants who are currently certified Kansas law enforcement officers or have a degree in criminal justice.

Non-Certified deputies starting wage is $19.27. Additional pay considerations are available depending on qualifications. Other benefits include sick, vacation, furnished uniforms and equipment, health, dental, and life insurance plans, and Kansas Police & Fire (KP&F) retirement.
